Obviously with 8MB system memory used, the i915GM's integrated graphics processor is not up to running the latest games, even at the lowest settings. Doom 3 performs slightly better under CPU intensive low detail settings on the SD11G5 than the AOpen board, and performs about the same as a Pentium 4 3.73GHz Extreme Edition.

Far Cry also performs better, but by a greater margin of exactly 10FPS over the AOpen board. In high detail, the GPU limitation means that all the systems perform the same, and although none perform better with a common component limiting performance it’s important to point out none perform under par.

The bottom line is that you can happily use this system for gaming, without worrying about the architecture being sub-par.
